Bad Bad Hats Concert Recap

Since the release of their debut album, Psychic Reader, the whimsical indie pop band Bad Bad Hats has been touring extensively and made a stop in Dallas, TX last Thursday at the Sundown at Granada. Despite the rain, fans still showed up ready to sing their hearts out and dance like there was no tomorrow alongside the band.

You couldn’t help but fall in love with the lead singer/guitarist, Kerry Alexander. Her quirky on-stage personality could bring a smile to anyone's face. She endearingly celebrated the band’s return to DFW saying in a comically deadpan tone, “This is our second time headlining in Dallas and you know what they say; the first time, great, second time... great.” The band performed some throwbacks like the title tracks “It Hurts” off their 2013 EP and “Physic Reader” from their 2015 LP. Bad Bad Hats makes songs for hopeless romantics and lucid daydreamers. Their upbeat, catchy, and easy going vibe will make you feel like you’re back in high school writing letters to your crush and work up the nerve to give it to them. Their second full-length album, Lightning Round is available now so do yourself a favor and check it out.
