Dua Lipa and Northern National Draw Large Crowds on a Sunday Night
Simultaneous shows at The Door and Prophet Bar brought the Dallas crowd out this past Sunday night for headliners Dua Lipa and Northern National. We stopped by the connected venues running back and forth to see as much of each lineup as possible.
Starting the night out at Prophet Bar was Dallas-based pop-rock band CIITY who energized the crowd and brought an exciting start to the night. Followed The Wldlfe and The Band Camino who got the crowd extra hyped before Northern National took the stage.
To no surprise, Northern National gave another electric performance, and also debuted a few of their new songs like "Money Blind" and “Face 2 Face”. Northern National has perfected their craft with polished radio-ready singles and killer guitar solos from Andrew Supulski. Band founders, Michael Kanne and Michael Rossi, have curated a personality and performance style that the Dallas music scene can't seem to get enough of.
Meanwhile at The Door, the crowd filled in, eagerly awaiting England’s indie-pop sensation, Dua Lipa. The Dallas crowd about lost their minds when Lipa came out in a silky black slip dress, but her strong and dynamic vocals showed why she recently won “Best New Artist” at the NME awards. Reminiscent of Banks or Lorde with an energetic twist, Dua Lipa is well on her way to being one of the next big pop stars by the time her debut album comes out this summer.
