Happy New Music Friday, we are thrilled to premiere “Cry”, the latest single from our favorite local blusey rocker Mitchell Ferguson.  Pulling inspiration from the soulful Chris Stapleton, “Cry” shows off Ferguson’s dignified melancholy of old-school country and blues.

“‘Cry’  is about change” said Mitchell. “More specifically, it’s about the sadness and pain that often leads up to and follows change, but also the importance of embracing these emotions. I was in a very vulnerable place when I wrote this song. I was hurting a lot from a messy break up, work opportunities that had fallen through, and a slew of other personal issues. I found myself very consistently wanting to cry.”

Recorded at Modern Electric Sound Recorders in Dallas, Texas, “Cry” was produced and mixed by Jason Burt (Medicine Man Revival) and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering.

Mitchell Ferguson is celebrating the release of his latest single "Cry" on Saturday, June 2 with a single release party at Sundown at Granada from 11 p.m to 2 a.m.
