Kero Kero Bonito Concert Recap

“KKB! KKB!”, chanted the audience before Kero Kero Bonito stepped onstage at Deep Ellum Art Company. The venue was packed with people dressed in Halloween costumes standing as close as possible to the stage. All throughout the concert the audience danced to KKB’s upbeat tracks. Lead vocalist Sarah Bonito brought an evident electricity to the show — dancing across the stage, flipping her hair, and standing right at the edge of the audience. “I’m going to sing a song to all the fishes living in the fish bowl!” said Sarah before singing ‘Fish Bowl’. The band also performed “Only Acting”, along with their other upbeat Japanese pop and video game inspired songs.

Last month the London-based bilingual indie pop/rock band released their new album Time ‘n’ Place. Kero Kero Bonito has developed a unique sound that mixes rap with indie sounds and English with Japanese. Make sure you check on KKB’s new album and stay tuned for the next time they come through Dallas.
