Le Butcherettes Concert Recap

Le Butcherettes performed at Club Dada this past Wednesday as part of their tour following the release of "spider/WAVES" and "struggle/STRUGGLE (bi)." Decked out in red face paint and a Chichimeccan warrior outfit, lead singer Teri Gender Bender took the stage with her bandmates chanting wildly and shaking maracas. "Mr. Tolstoi" a track featured on their first LP Sin Sin Sin kicked off the show.

The punk band held nothing back as they unleashed a fury of energy and powerful lyrics that moved the audience to sing from the deepest parts of their soul. Performing favorites like "My Malley," "La Uva," and "Stab My Back",  the group’s intoxicating psychedelic energy captivated the audience, even playing a rendition of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball". The night was filled with sweat, spirit, and love. At the end of their set, Teri Gender Bender made her way through the crowd singing to audience members, and before returning to the stage, embraced a stranger with a heartfelt hug. If you haven’t heard had a chance to check out Le Butcherettes’ latest EP, be sure to give it a listen!
