Maps & Atlases Concert Recap
Maps & Atlases filled Club Dada with an intoxicating energy as they performed their first new album in six years, Lightlessness is Nothing New, as a part of their tour with Prism Tats. Dedicated fans filed in the venue, preparing to shout out their favorite nostalgic tracks and sing along to the new ones. The whole night was filled with a classic indie rock sound and a dash of psychedelic undertones.
Dave Davidson, the band’s frontman, sang lyrics of angst and hope that left impressions of everything in between. Some songs off of their new album gained a substantial part of their influence by Davidson going through the grief of losing his father. But, even though you can feel his experience through the lyricism, Maps & Atlases found a refreshing way to combine those feelings with a sense of hope and light.
By sharing their personal stories and intimate music, Maps & Atlases created an environment that everyone in the room could enjoy.
