The soulful hometown hero Leon Bridges is releasing his highly anticipated sophomore album this May. Last month, Bridges shared two new singles from the album, “Bad Bad News” and “Bet Ain’t Worth The Hand,” both of which previewing a slightly different sound than his previous album. Bridges already shared the “Bad Bad News” video and yesterday he surprised us with a second video. Check out the music video for “Bet Ain’t Worth The Hand".
The Velvet Ears, A.J. Legrand
A.J. Legrand and Ryan Berg of the Velvet Ears finished first and second in a listeners poll by 91.7 KTX last December, and this past Wednesday the two shared the stage together at Deep Ellum Art Company. Check out some photos from the epic show below by Ciyeva Lafaye.
One of our favorite local bands Northern National played a little warmup gig at Sundown at Granada last Thursday. The boys of Northern National have big plans in the coming weeks with a show at Deep Ellum Art Company on April 19th and their new EP D.A.R.K dropping shortly after. Levitation (formerly known as Austin Psych Fest) is pretty much responsible for sparking and inspiring the creation of psych festivals & events across the globe. Remaining independent, the event has developed from just a small word-of-mouth event to an internationally acclaimed, full weekend destination.
This is their 10th year, and once again they're delivering a once-in-a-lifetime lineup - Slowdive, Electric Wizard, Ministry, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Ty Segall, Panda Bear, The Make-Up, Ariel Pink, DIIV, The Garden, Waxahatchee, Thee Oh Sees, OM, Parquet Courts, SURVIVE, Chelsea Wolfe, Windhand, The Men and sooo many more are playing this year.
