Welcome to "The Dig" our weekly rundown of our favorite things happening in music right now and a look ahead at what we are excited for this week.
Nashville based pop-singer Daniella Mason is returning home to Dallas for the release of her self-titled debut album. The album released last month, has been getting a lot of buzz, with her single "Butterflies" even appearing on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist. Daniella has written for Nick Jonas and toured with Demi Lovato but her electro-pop music is rooted in her authentic song-writing abilities. Be sure to catch her this Wednesday, November 15th at Deep Ellum Art Company for her album release show. Dallas-based acts Castro (the new project of American Idol finalist Jason Castro) and Emma Oliver will be opening as well. Check out Daniella's music video for "Cruel Summer" below.
Last Thursday night at Trees, the American rock band, The Hotelier, opened up for Citizen in a lineup that also included Alex Napping, Great Grandpa, Oso Oso, and Sorority Noise. The Hotelier got the nearly sold out crowd moving, along with the first crowd surfers of the night during their 40-minute set. The set list included songs from their last two albums, Home, Like Noplace is There and their 2016 release, Goodness. Check out some photos from the show below from our reviewer Jenna Doolittle.
